Payments made to Savingsmart

Secure Payments

Savingsmart accepts online secure payments using Paymate Express

Paymate Express
How does Paymate Express work?
Paymate express allows you to send money to any registered seller in AUSTRALIA with an email address and Australian bank account. We will deduct the money from your credit card and send an email to the recipient letting them know the payment is on the way. The money will be deposited in the recipient's account after one entire business day has expired.

Do I need to register with Paymate to use Express Payment?
No. You can register in just a few minutes for additional benefits - you can track the status of your payments, you don't have to enter your credit card details the next time, you can make a payment from an Australian Bank Account, you can receive money into an Australian Bank Account and much more.

When will the recipient receive the money? Credit Card payments authorised before 6pm (1800 hours) AEST will usually be posted to the recipient's bank account the next night and be available for access the following business day. Bank Account payments authorised before 3pm (1500 hours) AEST will usually be posted to the recipient's bank account three business days after and be available for access the following business day. Which Credit Cards can I use to make a payment? You can use Visa and Mastercard. Bankcard can only be used for Australian Dollar purchases.

Do I need to verify my credit card? As a protection against fraud, Paymate may from time to time require you to verify your nominated card. verification involves Paymate debiting and crediting a small random amount to the credit card account. Paymate will notify you of the verification transactions and of your obligation to confirm the transaction amount.

Can I pay from a Bank Account? You can make an Express Payment from an Australian Bank Account if you are a registered Paymate client and have already verified an Australian Bank Account with us.

I am a registered Paymate client - can I use Paymate Express? Yes. Simply enter your username and password and select from the credit card or bank account payment options - your default account will be used.

Can I send money to someone not registered with Paymate? No, sorry you cannot pay a seller without them registering first. However if you get this error message, please check that you have your seller's correct email address that they registered with Paymate. Also check that you have entered it correctly. It must be absolutely correct.

Can I send money to someone without an Australian Bank Account? Not at this time. Please remember you can only pay sellers who have an AUSTRALIAN bank account.

Can I make a payment in a currency other than Australian Dollars? Yes, Paymate currently works in Australian dollarsi and US Dollars only . Users dealing in other currencies will have to agree on an exchange rate. You as the buyer then need to convert the amount to Australian dollars and enter that into the 'Payment Amount' section of the express form. If you are paying with a non-Australian or non-US credit card then your bank will convert the payment amount to your local currency. The credit card exchange rate may be different from the one used to calculate the payment amount so your actual billed amount may be larger or smaller than the actual bid amount.

Are my personal and financial details secure? When you send or request money using Paymate, the only information the recipient sees is your email address, name and shipping address. Recipients never see your financial information such as credit card or Australian bank account numbers. Paymate is committed to utilising the best commercially available technology and procedures to protect the security of your online transactions. Our entire site uses 128 bit SSL encryption. We encourage you to carefully review our Privacy and Security policies if you have further questions.

What are the fees for the Express Payment?
Paymate charges a small Transaction Fee to the buyer/payer for each payment made and to the seller/payor for credit card payments made. The buyer Transaction Fee is a combination of a low fixed fee plus a variable fee based on a percentage of the transaction value. All Fees & Charges are in Australian dollars and show GST separately since overseas residents are not subject to the GST. Please review our Fee Table for the different options and values. Paymate will calculate the fees and GST automatically for you.

How do I get more help from Paymate Client Services?
