3 Things Anyone Can Do To Save Money
Rock stars sing about saving money.

Australians are being told to spend less and save more. So why is it so hard to save money?
So why is it so hard to save money?
It’s not rocket science but if you spend more than you earn, you won’t save money.
Paul Clitheroe, a well known financial adviser and author of “Making Money The Keys to Financial Success” says, “Believe me, we tend to spend all we earn – and justify it. But take note that many of us are living well beyond the basics (food, shelter, clothes) and spending money on things we want (a selection of clothes, cars, holidays, movies, eating out) rather than what we need.”
Tips for saving money
Talk to any financial adviser and they all agree on one strategy- we need to have a plan and a budget.
Have a Plan
A plan is like a road map, guiding you to your destination. Write down your financial goals, such as saving money for a home or paying off the credit card – then you’ll have direction to work towards.
A Budget
A budget shows you where all of your hard earned money is going and balances our expenditure. It’s an excellent tool to control the spending and saving money.
“Budgets are to your wallet what fat cells are to your hips”
Anita Bell, author of the best selling book Your Mortgage And How To Pay It Off In Five Years by someone who did it in three, says “ Budgets are to your wallet what fat cells are to your hips. You can deny you have them as much as you like, but if you don’t work a little bit every day towards keeping them under control, then you’ll have to work a lot harder at beating the ‘blow out’ later on.”
Saving Money with Free Budget Tools
The Australian Government has established The Financial Literacy Foundation to help all Australians learn and improve managing their money.
Their website, Understand Money provides a free Budget Planner to calculate your total income and expenses.Saving only $1 a day will reap rewards
"Making Money the Key to Financial Success” by Paul Clitheroe explains how to make the most of your money – even if you’re on a low or average way. Paul says, “I’ll show how, for example, saving $1 a day can be turned into nearly $400,000.”
